The JUNIOR ENTERPRISE STUDENT ASSOCIATION KORA (hereinafter, KORA) wishes to inform you about the use of cookies on its websites.

Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user's browsing habits or their computer, and depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognise the user and improve the service offered.

Cookies can be distinguished into two types, according to the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained: First-party cookies and third-party cookies.

Furthermore, we discussed session cookies or persistent cookies, when it comes to the timeframe that they remain stored in the client's browser.

Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalisation cookies, analytical cookies, advertising cookies and behavioural advertising cookies

Cookies used for any of the following purposes are exempt from the obligations established in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, hereinafter LSSI:

– Allow only communication between the user's device and the network.

Strictly provide a service expressly requested by the user.

In this regard, the Article 29 Working Party in its Opinion 4/2012 (Opinion 4/2012 on the exemption from the requirement of consent for Cookies, http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/article-29/documentation/opinion-recommendation/files/2012/wp194_es.pdf) has interpreted that the exempted cookies would include those intended for:

– «User login» cookies»

– Authentication or user identification cookies (session-only)

– User security cookies

– Media player session cookies

– Session cookies for load balancing

– Cookies used to personalise the user interface

– Plug-in cookies for social content sharing

Therefore, it can be understood that these cookies are excluded from the scope of Article 22.2 of the LSSI, and consequently, it would not be necessary to inform or obtain consent regarding their use.
